The 8 Best Keto Fast Food Breakfasts

Mornings can get hectic really fast (school drop off, traffic-heavy commute to work, appointments, etc.). Luckily, fast food chains have some pretty good keto-friendly options for days when you hit the ground running from the minute you wake up and don’t have time for another breakfast option! Our recommendations are below.

1. McDonald’s

We recommend a breakfast burrito, minus the tortilla. It’s a great option, as it’s just a scramble with sausage, cheese, chiles, and onion. Sausage or egg McMuffins are also a good choice here, without the English muffin—though it may be slightly less satisfying than a tortilla-free breakfast burrito.

2. Wendy’s®

Similar to McDonald’s, our top choice here is a breakfast burrito without the tortilla. They also offer various breakfast sandwiches that can work on a keto diet without the bread. (We call it “sandwich guts” but you probably don’t want to use that term when you’re ordering.)

3. Chick-Fil-A®

Staying keto here is a little bit trickier. They have some standard breakfast sandwiches on offer, but most have their breaded chicken; they have a breakfast burrito, like other fast food chains, but it’s mostly potatoes so the carb count is a lot higher than most of us are looking for on keto.

We recommend the egg white grill without the English muffin. This sandwich uses grilled chicken (which isn’t breaded), egg whites, and cheese. Another option could be their bacon, egg & cheese muffin/biscuit (without the muffin or biscuit). They do also offer a fruit cup, which might bring your carb count up a little higher than you’d like, but is still better than other options.

4. Taco Bell®

Say it with us: “breakfast burrito without the tortilla!” Taco Bell has a couple options here, and they make for a great keto-friendly breakfast when you’re on the run.

5. Starbucks®

6. Burger King

Burger King has a handful of breakfast sandwiches, and are known for using croissants as their bun. Your best options here are the “beefacon” or beef sandwich—without the croissant, of course.

7. Subway®

There are pretty standard breakfast sandwich options here consisting of bacon, ham, egg, and cheese. Just ask for it without the flatbread, and you should be good to go!

8. Jack in the Box

There are several breakfast sandwich options that are good choices here for the ketonian that’s in a rush—minus the breading. If you want a combo (with coffee), just let them know you don’t want the hash brown that comes with it.
