Craving a creamy treat that won’t sabotage your low-carb goals? Luckily, we live in a world with plenty of sugar-free, low-carb, and keto ice cream options. But not all of them are created equal, and it can be confusing to know which ones to choose.
In this blog post, we’re diving deep into the realm of icy goodness and I’ll share the brands that I prefer to reach for when nothing but ice cream will make the world right again.

1. Keto Chow Ice Cream
Obviously I’m biased, but for realsies, if you haven’t tried making your Keto Chow into ice cream, it’s an absolute game changer—especially for those who like to DIY.
Most flavors are under 2 net carbs per serving—and that’s for a complete meal (yes, turns out ice cream can actually be a healthy meal), so it’s easy to fit into most keto macros. You can use regular ice cream makers or other methods (depending on what fat you choose to use), or you can go the Ninja® CREAMi route.
2. Rebel Ice Cream
I love the texture of Rebel—and they have a ton of flavors to choose from which is fantastic. They’re also widely available at most grocery stores. Just keep an eye on portion sizes (like with pretty much any food). It’s easy to slip up and end up eating the whole pint, but it’s nice that Rebel Ice Cream seems to understand this.
If you look at their nutrition information, they tell you it’s three servings per pint, but they also give you the nutrition information for the entire container so it’s easy to see what your macros will look like if you do end up eating more than you plan to. Net carbs per serving range from around 1.4 up to 2.6, depending on the flavor.
3. Keto Pint
The pint-sized superheroes of the low-carb ice cream world? =) I don’t know about that, but this brand is a pretty great option. I really like that in addition to regular pints, they also offer ice cream bars, which can make a nice change sometimes. It also has pretty clean ingredients, which is always something I look for, and has around 3 net carbs per serving.
4. Halo Top
While not exclusively tailored for keto, Halo Top offers some options that can fit into your low-carb or keto lifestyle. It’s worth noting that they have made ingredient changes in the recent past, so exercise caution and check the labels for keto-friendly choices.
Halo Top shows 5-8g net carbs on their packaging, but it should be noted that is for the full pint. Per serving, that would range from 1.3 up to 2.6g net carbs. Considering that alone, it’s pretty impressive.
The only reason this brand isn’t further up the list is that the ingredients aren’t quite as clean as Keto Pint, it’s not quite as tasty as Rebel, and you have to let it melt a little before eating it but wait too long and the texture goes a bit weird.
5. Enlightened Ice Cream
Next on my personal list is Enlightened Ice Cream, a brand that caters to both the indulgent and the health-conscious. It’s important to know that not all of their products are keto-friendly, so make sure you’re ordering from the keto line if that’s important to you! The keto line has 2-3 net carbs per serving.
6. Killer Whey
Killer Whey has low net carbs (1-2 per serving), but the ingredients are less ideal than some of the brands further up my list. I also prefer the taste of other options (because hey, taste is still important on keto!). They do have some ice cream bars that are really killer… yeah, I did that – they are quite good though.
7. Mammoth Ice Cream
Next up, we have Mammoth Ice Cream. It has surprisingly clean ingredients and only 1-2g net carbs per serving. But it’s near the bottom of my list simply because of the taste and texture—I prefer other brands on this list. So while it’s certainly a healthy alternative to traditional ice cream, it’s not my ice cream of choice.
8. Breyer’s Carb Smart
Last on my list is Breyer’s. I don’t particularly recommend this brand. It is a little higher on the net carb count (around 4-5 depending on the flavor), and the ingredients are definitely not my preference. It uses maltitol, diglycerides, soluble corn fiber, and other ingredients I prefer to stay away from. But if it’s the only keto-friendly option at a dinner party, it’s certainly better than traditional ice cream!
