Tips and Tricks For Staying Keto During Halloween
Now that you’ve got plenty of recipes to keep your taste buds busy…what about some tips and tricks for staying on track during this very sugary season?
What’s your game plan?
If you know ahead of time what you’re going to say yes to, it’s easier to say no to everything else! Maybe the keto pie at the Halloween party is a yes, but the sugar-free office candy is a no. Or maybe you want to eat carnivore for breakfast and dinner on Halloween so you can have all your daily carbs that night.
When you have a plan, you’ll feel less like you’re dodging obstacle after obstacle and more like you’re in the driver’s seat.
What are you giving trick-or-treaters?
Whatever you choose to give trick-or-treaters, make sure it’s something you don’t mind having left over. If it’s sugary candy, be prepared to donate it, or make sure you have a neighbor that will be willing to take it off your hands.
That way it won’t be in the closet for months, tempting you to fall off the wagon. But remember, you don’t have to hand out candy! You can hand out toys, stickers, fidgets, etc. The options are endless!
For some families with severe food allergies, that’s a lifesaver anyway! Keto Chow co-founders Chris and Miriam go even further and cook up bacon to hand out to trick-or-treaters! Get creative!
What makes Halloween fun for YOU?
If Halloween for you just isn’t Halloween without truffles, find a delicious keto version (like this one). If you have a tradition of getting a pumpkin spice latte every Halloween morning, keto-fy that, too!
By being realistic about what will help you have a satisfying holiday and finding ways to accommodate that, you are setting yourself up for success.
